Why does a waste pile on the yard get expensive?
Because it sits there for weeks. It collects more things, gets wet, and in the end someone pays to remove it in a hurry. A pile is not storage. It is unfinished work.
When is a bag the better choice?
When there is more waste than a car boot, but not a full skip. A bulk bag stays on the yard for the agreed time and is collected. You do not have to invent where to drive the load.
What should not go in the bag?
Hazardous waste, paints, and anything that is not building or yard waste. If you are unsure, ask before you fill it. The wrong contents stop the collection.
Can I take the load myself?
A small amount, yes. As soon as you need a trailer, a tarp and a free Saturday, the time has already gone. The wrong receiving site means the load comes back.
How does this fit autumn renovation?
In September people take down decks and clear storage before winter. If the pile stays, it is still there when the snow comes. Then nobody tidies it.
What do you do when the bag is full?
We collect it and take the material for handling. The yard is empty. It is not the starting point of the next volunteer day.
